We're going camping now...

As of today, March 20, 2010 Jenna and I are 35 days away from getting married! The wedding showers have been coming fast and furious lately, and Jenna's apartment is slowly filling up with gifts from our registry.

All the things we have gotten thus far are very nice, and much better than the garage sale stuff I have been using since college. However, as much as I will like having new kitchen appliances, dishes, and the 18 different blankets Jenna plans to use on our bed, I just don't get quite as excited about those things as she does. And then came this past Thursday night.

My co-workers from Bronson threw us a shower, and we went out to eat at TGI Fridays. They all went in together and got us this...

BAM! A 3-person, 4-season, bomb shelter! (It's really a tent, but according to the reviews it behaves more like a bomb shelter) No offense to anyone else who has gotten us gifts thus far, but this has been my favorite.

In all seriousness, I feel the same way about this tent as the guy in this commercial does about his video game.

Jenna definitely likes it, but has minimal camping experience, so I don't really think she knows what to expect. I really think that this tent will help her enjoy camping a bit more. It's a 4-season tent, so it will help with warmth and dryness. And of course, if I ever convince her to go winter camping, it was built for that too :)

I am already excited about our first camping expedition, whenever that may be. ( I am also very excited to be getting married in 35 days!! )

Thank to all my friends at John Street Rehab!

Really?

I was filling up my beloved automobile with gas the other day, and staring me in the face was this sign on the gas pump.

How would one go about pre-paying in advance? Isn't it good enough to just pre-pay, or pay in advance?

Apparently someone else had the same question as I did, because they tried to use a sharpie to cross out "Pre".

Now, I am not an English major, so if this is in someway correct, I hope that someone can enlighten me.

Winter at the beach

Last night Jenna and I decided to enjoy all the sunshine we were having in Michigan and head out to South Haven. A lot of the ice and snow had melted this past week, but there was still a fair amount on the pier. It took some gentle coaxing, but I convinced Jenna is was safe to go out to the end.

There was a bit of a nip in the air by the time the sun goes down, so we made coffee before we left Kalamazoo and took it with us. And because coffee always tastes better when you have a little something to snack on with it, we also took some mint Oreos and ate them while we watched the sunset.

Lake Michigan was dead calm. I cannot remember the last time I had seen it that way. Combined with the cloudless sky and copious sunshine, it made for quite a beautiful landscape.

We took turns posing in front of the ice with our coffee. Jenna apparently felt more comfortable with two cups of coffee in her hands. (I think she was just doing her best Jack Donaghy impression from 30 Rock)

A day in the life at John Street Rehab...

There really is no real point to this blog. I just thought I would put some pictures up of what actually goes on while I am at work. Thanks to Dr. John Stephen for providing the pictures.

I am not exactly sure what is going on here...
Demonstrating proper sitting posture as only a good physical therapist can...
I think this one was taken prior to me dating Jenna...
I was the "test dummy" for our in-service on how to use the paraslide. It was actually kinda fun, I got to slide down the stairs.
That is all I have for now. I may be able to post more from my work experiences once I get the pictures and video from John.
