
My favorite way to enjoy avocado is in the form of guacamole. I could probably make an entire meal out of a bowl of guacamole and a bag of tortilla chips. (OK, so a bag of chips may not be that healthy for you...)

- Avocados have the highest protein content of any fruit.
- Avocados contain 60% more potassium than bananas.
- One avocado contains 81 mcg of lutein , an important nutrient for healthy eyes.
- High avocado intake has been shown to decrease LDL (bad) cholesterol and triglycerides and increase HDL (good) cholesterol
- About 75% of an avocado's calories come from fat, most of which is monounsaturated fat.
- They are rich in B vitamins, as well as vitamin E and vitamin K.
- They have the highest fiber content of any fruit - including 75% insoluble and 25% soluble fiber.
